In partnership with AHCA/NCAL, Q&I launched the Long-Term Care Data Cooperative, an initiative to assist providers with health care operations and help providers monitor their residents’ needs and outcomes.

The Long-Term Care Data Cooperative allows comprehensive surveillance and monitoring by aggregating electronic health record data in near real-time. This multi-year effort is funded by the National Institute on Aging, the cooperative and will be the largest assembly of data from nursing homes, with weekly data updates.

According to Vincent Mor, PhD, “Thirty years ago, the minimum data set made it possible to characterize the needs of nursing home residents and to document the impact of new treatments and policies. This initiative transforms this effort by linking ‘real-time’ clinical data, including lab results and orders, in ways that can transform the delivery of care to the increasingly vulnerable population of nursing home residents.”

Providers interested in learning more or joining the cooperative can read more read more on AHCA’s website.
